About Hotels Unlimited
The Tajfel Family, currently operating as Hotels Unlimited, Inc. and The Tajfel Group, has been in the hotel business since 1979. The company was pioneered by Henry Tajfel, the Chairman of the Board, and is now run by his sons Doran and Carey, Co-Presidents.
The family enterprise has expanded and matured, and now includes nine hotels as well as retail and office space, self-storage facilities, and other hotel complexes under development. The various hotels are affiliated with HOLIDAY INN, RADISSON, RAMADA, DAYS INN, and DOUBLETREE. Currently, Hotels Unlimited owns and operates the HOLIDAY INN of Toms River, NJ, the HOLIDAY INN of South Plainfield, NJ, the HOLIDAY INN of East Windsor, NJ, the HOLIDAY INN of Tinton Falls, NJ, the HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS HOTEL & SUITES of West Long Branch, NJ, the RAMADA INN & SUITES of Toms River, NJ, the DAYS INN of East Windsor, NJ, the RADISSON HOTEL of Freehold, NJ (coming in Summer 2008), and the DOUBLETREE HOTEL of West Palm Beach, FL.
All of our hotels are rated "Three Diamonds" by AAA, and have received many awards of recognition from their respective brands.
The Holiday Inn of East Windsor, NJ, is also home to the National Conference Center, featuring 13 meeting and conference rooms including a state-of-the-art tiered auditorium and amphitheater, an on-site audiovisual department and a trained professional support staff. The National Conference Center was one of the very first conference centers to be developed in the United States and is strategically located between New York City and Philadelphia.
Hotels Unlimited, Inc. is broadening its franchise relationship to include the Hilton family of hotels. Currently, the company is developing a Hilton Garden Inn in Lakewood, NJ, which is expected to open in the summer of 2008, and a Hampton Inn in Freehold, NJ, which is expected to open in the summer of 2009. Hotels Unlimited is also developing a Holiday Inn Express in Neptune, NJ, which will open in the winter of 2009, and a Staybridge Suites by Holiday Inn in Robbinsville, NJ, which is expected to open in 2009.
Henry Tajfel has more than 40 years of business experience, ranging from wholesale egg distribution to real estate development and building. With the business acumen and skills learned in these other ventures, he pursued and fulfilled his life-long dream of becoming a hotelier together with his wife, Julie, who has been his right hand throughout his career. In 1979, they built and opened the Best Western Motel in Lakewood. Starting with only 24 rooms, they expanded through the years, and the company they founded now includes over nine properties and nearly 1,400 rooms.
Doran Tajfel is a 1986 graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University and holds a J.D. from Widener University School of Law. He joined the company in 1990, and currently oversees operations at most of the New Jersey properties and the DoubleTree Hotel in West Palm Beach. Doran also plays a key role in overseeing various renovation projects for the company.
Carey Tajfel is a 1991 graduate of Yeshiva University. He started as Operations Manager at the Ramada Inn of Toms River and, in 1992, he opened the Ramada Inn of East Windsor, which is now the Holiday Inn. Carey now serves as the director of business development for the group. He also oversees operations at some of the New Jersey properties, and directs the accounting and marketing departments in addition to cultivating banking and franchise relationships for the company. Carey spends a great deal of time working on developing the new hotel complexes scheduled to break ground in the near future as well as other commercial developments.
The key ingredient to their success has been their personal involvement in management of their properties. This gives them a tremendous advantage over other companies who do not maintain the same strict controls and standards. Hotels Unlimited has created new corporate positions to assist the company in its growth, including Director of Sales and Marketing, Chief Financial Officer, Director of Construction and Renovations, and Regional Manager. The expansion of their operation has been steady, allowing adequate time to undertake new acquisitions.
